InstaRival: The Inside Scoop on Instagram's New Twitter Competitor, P92

Instagram is reportedly developing a new text-based app that could potentially compete with Twitter. Codenamed P92, the app will allow users to create posts up to 500 characters long and attach links, photos, and videos. It's being developed by Meta, a company that specializes in decentralized social networks.
The app will be compatible with other services like Mastodon through ActivityPub, which is a protocol for distributed social networking. This means that users of the new service will be able to interact with people on other platforms as well. Users will also be able to log in using their existing Instagram credentials and any blocked accounts from Instagram will carry over to the new service.

Meta has stated that it plans to implement good moderation controls from the start so that users can have an enjoyable experience while using the app. This is great news for those who are looking for an alternative to Twitter but don't want to deal with trolls or spammy content.
It's still unclear when P92 will be released or what features it will have when it does launch. But if Meta can deliver on its promises of good moderation controls and compatibility with other services, then this could be a great way for people to engage in conversations online without having to worry about trolls or spammy content. We'll just have to wait and see what happens when P92 launches!
